I have the same problem, except i dont know how to change APN to Internet.. People say "go to settings on you phone" but there is nothing of the sort, only network options.. there is nothing to change there.

Hello, i have a blackberry curve 8520...Mxit has been working perfectly untill about a week ago.
I know it helps when you change your internet settings and enable APN and changing user name to 'internet' ,but it contradicts to the internet providers settings to access the internet browser.

When i log into Mxit it takes ages logging in in the first place, and it disconnects as soon as i get in. and then it throws a black screen.I've tried downloading older versions but they work for 2days then they do exactly the same thing.

I've tried changing my logging settings to auto, but that causes Mxit to not log in at all, basically i have tried everything on my part.So the problem does definitely not lie on my side.
Please look into your blackberry Mxit, and fix these problems.
until it's fixed ill unhappily chat on my computer's Mxit.

    Regards

Okay, u are at the home screen-press menu(now u are at window where all the little icons are)-click on options(the icon with the spanner[3rd from last on the menu screen])-click on advanced options(second on the list)-now click on TCP/IP(second to last on the list)-Now enable APN settings
    username for APN:internet
    Password for APN:(leave blank)

You can try this... but i have already, then my internet browser does not work at all,so i contacted my internet prover and he said i have to disable my APN and empty the user name in order for my internet browser to work.So it's totally contradicting.

    Hi!

You're filling in the wrong part, lol, which was exactly what I did when I first got my BB :-P

You need to tick the block where it says "Enable APN Settings", and right below that where it says "APN:" just type in "internet".

Everything else should be left blank. ;-)

Lol thank you...but i tried that aswell. :-P my internet provider said my APN settings shouldn't be enabled at all. Everything should be left blank.Otherwise i wont be able to connect to the internet browser and the R59 i pay for free internet per month is wasted.

Are you serious? The person who told you that is an idiot

If you don't want to waste the R59, I would then advise you to change your APN to "blackberry.net"

I'll upload a screenshot of my settings. I've been using that APN for the past 6 months, and I've saved A LOT of airtime. ;-)

    EDIT: Here's my screenshot:

Hey Guys, also have a BB8700, I can't access the Mxit menu. If I scroll to the top of the opening screen and click the wheely, I access my profile. If I move to a contact and click the wheely it opens the contact, it i click on the wheely while the contact is open it gives me the small sub-menu, "send, markup, emoticons, vibes" No Mxit menu. So I can't log off and if mixt dc's I can't get back on unless I remove the battery.
Also can't access the emoticons or text colours cos scrolling the wheely moves the cursor up and down... no horizontal movement.
    Please help!

BB8700 doesn't have a MENU key!!! No key that has the BB symbol on it! There is a wheely button on the side of the handset that does not access the Menu... Had there been a menu key, I would have tried it!
