    Hi.

I having trouble downloading Mxit for my BB.

    Phone model: 8310 curve
    Service provider: Vodacom
    OS: 4.2
    Plan: BIS.

I have now since downloaded every available version of Mxit and I keep getting the same error message "Error starting mxitbb_en_42x42: Module 'mxitbb_en_42x42-2' has verification error 1822 at offset 5171".

I have also changed my APN settings from Internet to Blackberry.net and back a few times and all permissions were set to allow and still nothing.

Anything else you would like me to try, I will gladly do it, because life without MX is a tad frustrating.

    Thanx

    Hi

Please try this: Press the Menu key, then options Options > Advanced Options > TCP/IP and change it there, please make sure that "APN Settings enabled:" is ticked.

    Hi there

Is anyone else having issues with Mxit 6 beta on Blackberry Curve 8520?
My Mxit started lagging after the recent maintenance and then refused to sign out. Once I tried reinstalling, the mobile site informed me that I don't have the necessary supported os version. I updated to os 5 but the mobile download site still tells me that I need os 4.7 or higher. When Mxit 6 eventually installed it lags and freezes on the sign in screen? I've begrudgingly downgraded to v 5.9.4 (when Mxit 6 was so awesome before maintenance). Is there any way of resolving this issue and getting Mxit 6 back?

    Thanks

    Hi PsY

I upgraded my BB OS through the pc suite. It required a reset/battery pull, so I rebooted my blackberry. I consulted my phone settings and it confirms that I have OS 5(platform 5.2.0.64 and v 5.0.0.592). I deleted and reinstalled Mxit 6, it installed fine and ran but then it just logged out and after that when I tried to run it, it would get stuck on the log in screen. I've tried to reinstall multiple times, and each time the site recommends Mxit v 5.9.4. It tells me OS 4.7 is not supported and that I need
at least OS 5. I am a little confused that Mxit 6 worked fine and now apparently my OS is not supported.

    I hope this helps.
    Regards

    Greetings Tentatatrice

During a Blackberry OS update; he phone does require a reboot but willl atomatically do so. any manual restarts by the user will interupt the update and cause problems which i'm afraid is what happened in your situation

You will be prompted that a restart will occur but this process will be automated

You might need to reinstall your OS by doing the following:
    - Make sure the latest version of Blackberry Desktop Software is downloaded and installed from http://www.blackberry.com/

    - Before you do anything, back up your BlackBerry device. Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and select Backup and Restore. On the next screen select Backup and perform a full backup of your device data. Note where the backup file is located for easy data re-import, Close the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and leave your device plugged in.

    - Open Windows Explorer and go to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\ and open the Loader.exe file. In Vista 64-bit computers, the file is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader. Depending on your computer's settings, you may need to show hidden folders (under File > Options for Windows XP or Organize > Folder and Search Options in Windows Vista or 7).

    - After the device configuration has been retrieved, you will be on the Device Application Selection page. You may scroll through the list to ensure all the applications you want are selected. You can also de-select any applications you don't use to save space. Click Next.

    - On the next page, click on the Advanced button. Ensure that both boxes (Delete all application data and Delete all currently installed applications) are checked. Click Next.

    - Proceed with the OS reinstall. Note that this process may take 10-30 minutes (usually ~10 minutes). DO NOT DISCONNECT THE DEVICE.

    - Once the process is complete, re-open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Select Backup and Restore and open the Restore application. Select the file to restore (Backup-(Year-Month-Day).ipd) and click open. Follow the steps to restore your device.

    - Re-enable your device connection by going to Manage Connections and turn on your Mobile Network.

    - Go to http://m.Mxit.com and attempt the download again

    Regards
    PsY

Yes, there is a category that should run on OS7.

Hi guys, I was just wondering if you would recommend buying a blackberry. I am thinking of doing so but it seems many people are complaining. The last thing I want is to struggle with yet another phone.
