    Greetings Motorola users,

For those of you who are experiencing connectivity problems please give the following a try, in Mxit goto "Menu" - "Settings" - "Login", under "Connection type" select "HTTP". Log out of Mxit, log back into Mxit, now see if you are still experiencing connectivity problems.

    Please post some feedback.

Thank you for the feedback. Just a quick question, when you sent a message and you got disconnected, did you had any custom emoticons in your message? Did you got disconnected when you received a custom emoticon?

    Heya!
I've recently been receiving really bad connection problems, which I started experiencing over the past week. What happens is that I log on alright, but the moment I send a message to anyone I get disconnected (that picture of the world with the red line across it appears) and then the auto connect re-connects me again and this continues to happen whenever I try sending a message. I've asked a few of my friends and one or two said they were also experiencing this!
I've got a Motorola V360 on MTN. Any ideas what this could be? How do I resolve this problem cause it's really getting annoying. :x
I'm changing over to Virgin Mobile on the weekend.
    Seeya, thanks!

I spent about 45 over the phone with MTN's customer care's technical support and he instructed me to setup a new connection. My Service type 1 is: WAP and my Proxy 1 is: 196.011.240.251 and my port 1 is: 9201 all my CSD are cleared. Any other help?

Changing your GPRS settings won't solve the problem. Have you tried what I have suggested in my previous post here: http://forum.Mxit.co.za/viewtopic.php?p=374753#374753

Okie... so, changing the Login connection type to HTTP did solve the problem and it had nothing to do with custom emoticons although I have found that the new V55 emoticons don't work but, now I've downloaded the new V5.6 and I get the same problem but, when I try changing the connection type from socket: half duplex to HTTP and I re-log in it doesn't change?! What should I do now...
Btw, the new Mxit looks sick, Good job guys! Seeya cheers!

    Heya!
So, any update? My contacts are threatening to delete me off their Mxit cause it's irritating them that I reconnect EVERY time I send a message, change my pressence or send any kind of data!?
A fast solution would be most appreciated...

Unfortunately there isn't a very fast solution for the problem which you are currently experiencing. As F2006 stated elsewhere:

This is a client side bug and not a server side bug. It is most likely that this bug will be fixed in a next bug fix release of the Mxit client.

Unfortunately it is not known yet when a bug fix will be released, any info will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
