Please get him to take a look at this post --> http://forum.Mxit.com/viewtopic.php?p=407780#407780

This could possibly be the cause of the problem.

Mxit's side :O If the application is installed on the phone then I hardly see Mxit having the issue here as GPRS is provided by MTN and the issue here is with the GPRS... But anyway...

Let's rather try setting up the GPRS settings on the phone manually and see if we have some luck there.

Give these settings a try on the phone --> Motorola FAQ

im having huge problems with my motorolla L7 slazr!

ok i log on Mxit perfectly, and then when im on Mxit i get dc like every minute.
except i dont really get dc, i still see peoples messages they see mine and i dont get logged off!
but everyone sees me go online and offline like mad.. (which ruins convos sometimes with a wb every second message)

which is survivable but also when im chatting in a multimix or chatroom, when i get dc i get kicked out.. so effectively i cant chat in either...
and it also ruins using tradepost and what not!! and aardwolf...

Oh and now i every time that happens i get a message from info about doing a questionaire which i can now probably quote word for word!!!

sooooooo please i beg you to help!! im on mtn :-\|

Are you possibly connecting via HTTP?
Does Mxit say "Connecting" or "Opening" when you connect?
