When I send text from Mxit surrounded by '*' it makes the text bold, even when I send to my contacts who are on gmail.com. But when those contacts try do the same thing, like writing '*bold*' Mxit just prints the stars and doesn't make the text font bold. Why is that? Must they do something different to send me bold text?

I've tried this with Mxit on my Galaxy S and a LG KS 360, same problem.

Try putting a "\" before the "*"

Google talk system may be is different script with Mxit so it will not be able to cacth mark up and does not work in other side. If both of google talk user in Mxit client the mark up still work.
