I have not used MXIT from my phone for quite some time but rather use Pidgin on my laptop. Today I am needing to access MXIT via my Samsung D900. I have updated to the latest version - become a Freestyler - restarted MXIT - but cannot figure out how to save messages to my Gallery. I have created a folder in my Gallery for the messages - but do not see a function anywhere to save the messages from chats. Am I missing something? What is the process for saving. I used to be able to do it with no problems at all in the past and still have a number of messages saved on the same phone. Please help  Thanks

    Greetings dusty,

Firstly you do not need to create folders. The folder called "Default" is where MXit will save your messages.

Ok how to save messages: When you are in a conversation, click you left soft button. That will bring up the menu with options like camera, send file, send voice etc. In there will be save messages. Click that and it will then ask how many messages you would like to save. The maximum is fifty messages per save.

Hope that helps, Oh and a tip for the future...... You do not have to be a freestyler to save messages. ;)

    Regards

    Clefty

Thanks. That is how it has always worked. I have saved many messages in the past but haven't used my phone for MXIT in a long time. When I press the left button all i get is clear messages, voice call and close tab. The option to save isn't there?

    Hi,

I have a Samsung Jet (S8003), touch screen phone. I installed mxit - tried v5.9.4/5.9.3/5.9.2/5.9.1 lite and am finding it very problematic. When I send out or receive a message from a contact, I have a problem seeing the whole message on my screen as if its a sentence consisting of a few words it cuts off 1 or 2 words at the end of each line, which makes it difficult to figure out what the person is saying! I cannot scroll across the screen, only up and down, and when I go to settings to change my font size it will not allow me to, but on "small" its still cutting off words at the end of the line, so I doubt that is the problem!

What can I do to fix this problem, as its making it very difficult to use mxit and talk to people

Please get back to me asap

    Greetings candice,

MXit is aware of the bug about messages overlapping the screen, We hope it will be fixed in the upcoming bug fix.

Hi, I have a Samsung Jet (S8003) too with the same issues as Candice, Im aware that Clefty says there should be an update coming out soon for this problem... Any idea when? Or is there any other way of fixing this problem? I found a msg in a forum saying that a samsung jet user should download the N73 mxit installation, I tried it.. no luck! Same problem!

Please let me know if there is a solution to this or and update due....

    Greetings,

Yes it seems no matter what version you download you still end up with the same problem.

As for the bug fix release, unfortunately MXit does not give time frames on releases.

    Sorry can't help further.

    Regards

    Clefty

@moose and candice, please download opera mini from www.operamini.com and see if you have the same problem with the text being cut off in the app.

    Please post some feedback.

    Greetings,

Please goto menu, help, about. Have a look if file access is supported on your phone.

    Hi All.
A fix for the Samsung Jet S8003 missing text issue. go to the appearance -> settings and select "Large" for the font size, even if it's already selected. it's rather strange but that works. You'll have to do this every time you log in.

A more permanent fix but a lot more technical. I have also found that if you add the following 2 lines to the .jad file. it will take away the virtual keys at the bottom of the screen and in turn fixes the missing text issue and also allows you to set the font size correctly.

    MIDlet-Scaleup-Support: False
    MIDlet-Touch-Support: True

If a mxit moderator or someone can just let the dev team know. I've noticed that this hasn't been fixed over the past few bug releases. Let me know if you need more info.

I have just tried this on the 5.9.5 release.

    Greetings.
I bought myself a Samsung B3310 recently and for the first week and a half everything was fine, I downloaded MXit and it worked. Then on Monday or Tuesday whenever I tried to log in it just says connecting and gets no further. I've managed to log in about four times since then but I get disconnected almost immediately. I am with MTN. I'd appreciate it if someone could help me out.
    Thanks
