I gather from the lack of activity on this topic that there is no news. However, I would like to ask if there is any word on the release date of 5.9.3? Any inkling of a time frame would be appreciated. Are we looking at 3 months? A year?

are there any other programs i can use on my storm 2 to use mxit? like an emulator of some sort that i can use until 5.9.3 is launched?

have you tried just selecting a different version of MXit? Below where you download MXit is a link to select different version. Give that a try

i have tried but no other version works on the storm2, ive been told to wait for 5.9.3? thats why i wanted to know if there is any other app i can use that can sync with mxit until such a time that 5.9.3 is launched

Unfortunately there is no updates yet. We are looking in to this for V5.9.3. There is no release date yet for this version. Any updates will be posted as soon as they become available.

As far as I know BB does support Java. Try changing your phone model to Nokia N70 or N95 and see what happens

Just bought the BB Storm 9520 today..

Downloaded mxit for the BB no problems ..

but as soon as i launch the program

i get the following..


Connection failure. Please select "help" for more information [Error code -7]

any help with thats.. cuz it cant be my connection cuz i just downloaded it..

i just install the nokia n70 as said above.. getting exact same error..

Posted three days ago still no answer wat done mods work weekends so much for forum support..
I've bow tried every thing possible. Downloaded.. Mxit for java nokia n70. Get the error 7.. Downloaded the mxit BB old version it logs in. Downloaded other version it not get passed installing. Can't send a dam message.. New version for BB not able to log in.. Why is it that mxit versions for normal phones get up dates so often. But apparently ppl been waiting hiw long for an BB update.. Can't u ppl make a java version for touchbscreen or get BB software developers to make a version..

error 7 in the N70 version implies that it is not getting internet signal.

you need to goto your internet setting and put your APN in which is not done as standard wit a BB due to the fact it usually has a data plan. But most Java apps can not use the data plan.

Please locate your internet settings and put the following APN settings in:

Username: internet
Password: (Leave Blank)

you should then be able to get MXit to connect using the JAVA version.

ive managed to get the n70 version working on my storm 2. the only problem is that i cannot send any messages. everything works, except the people dont get the messages that i send to them, even when i send a blank message to info it doesnt reply, so i guess its not recieving the messages either. do you have any idea of how i can fix this? should i try another version or maybe another phone model?
